Physical Capacity Evaluations

Learning Center

This is an objective performance-based evaluation that will help identify a worker's safe abilities and limitations following an injury. A PCE will determine musculoskeletal weakness and functional deficits. The evaluation can compare a client's demonstrated physical abilities to the critical physical demands of a specific job or can be a general synopsis of the client's current ability to safely return to work. This sort of evaluation typically lasts 4 to 8 hours over the course of 1 to 2 days.
