Joy received her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Creighton University with an emphasis in Athletic Training. After graduation she became a certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) through the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

She was a graduate assistant athletic trainer at the University of Hawaii-Manoa while working on her Master of Science in Athletic Training before attending the University of Puget Sound for Physical Therapy. Upon completion of her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2006, she began working at OSSR in Spanaway. Joy is interested in manual therapy with an emphasis in women’s health.
